Joys are flowing like a river
Since the Comforter has come
He abides with us forever,
Makes the trusting heart His home.
Blessed quietness, holy quietness
What assurance in my soul
On the stormy sea, He speaks peace to me
How the billows cease to roll
There are some huge billows rolling in my life right now, and the Lord used the comforting words of this hymn this afternoon to bring peace to my heart. It is a blessing to have memorized hymns and scripture that come to mind just when you need it!

Our supper last night
I love eating supper by candlelight!
The ham turned out delicious last night! The orange juice and brown sugar glaze worked fine, and gave a hint of sweet tangyness that we all liked. I think I would do it again.
I am really enjoying this new daily blogging habit. Today I even had too many pictures and ideas for one post so tomorrow's is already planned! I am planning a giveaway when I reach 200 posts on this blog. This is number 133.

Really enjoying your regular blogging :-) and sending kind regards from across the pond, sorry to hear that things are a bit rough.
ReplyDeleteIt is so wonderful knowing the Lord cares when we are going though hard times and gives us comfort! Love the hymn you mentioned. One of my favorites is "He giveth More Grace" I have part of it above my sink:
ReplyDelete"He giveth more grace when burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials He multiplies peace."
The ham you made sounds great! Graham likes to have his ham sliced cold with hot mustard:). We had that last night along with bread, and garlic/rosemary baby potatoes.
